Branford Discusses his Collaboration with the Grateful Dead in Rolling Stone
In March 1990, the Grateful Dead’s bassist, Phil Lesh, invited Branford Marsalis to perform with the band at the Nassau Coliseum. The concert became a favorite among Grateful Dead fans who collected recordings of live performances, and this September, the performance will be included in a new, limited edition CD set, Spring 1990 (The Other One). Rolling Stone interviewed Branford about his experiences with the Grateful Dead and their fans - it makes for an entertaining read here.
