Legendary drummer and Marsalis Music Honors Series artist Jimmy Cobb celebrates his birthday on January 20. Earlier this year, Mr. Cobb performed at New York’s Village Vanguard and WBGO and NPR Music recorded one of his performances - listen to the live set here. Michael Carvin at Jazz on the Mountain
In other Marsalis Music Honors Series artist news, drummer Michael Carvin and his Quartet will be performing at the Jazz on the Mountain weekend festival at the historic Mohonk Mountain House in New York’s Catskills region on January 17. Harry Connick, Jr. on American Idol
